AVFD Seeks Golfers and Sponsors for August 8 Tourney
AVON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT SEEKS GOLFERS
3rd Annual Fundraising Tournament is August 8
Most days, the Avon Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) is looking for new members – firefighters, fire police, administrative assistants, etc. However right now, the AVFD really needs to find some golfers, folks who want to play in the Department’s third annual Golf Tournament on Monday, August 8, 2016. In addition, there are still plenty of sponsorship opportunities available.
“The golf tournament is a fundraiser to support our commitment to the live fire training facility being built in Farmington,” says Jamie DiPace, AVFD fundraising co-chair and Avon Fire Marshal. “Each and every golfer and sponsor will make a difference.”
Presented by Sullivan’s O’Neills Chevrolet Buick with dinner sponsored by the Silvio Brighenti Family, the event will take place at Farmington Woods Golf Club, 34 Heritage Drive in Avon. Prior to the noon shotgun start, check-in begins at 10:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m. A silent auction and reception begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:00 p.m. and awards at 6:30 p.m. (prizes awarded for Team’s Low Score; on the green contests include Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive). Entry Fee: $130 per golfer by July 15, 2016 ($150 after July 15), includes 18 holes of golf, driving range, putting green, golf cart, BBQ lunch, buffet dinner, and raffle ticket. For more information and to register online, visit www.avonvfd.org.
