Sherber Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) is proud to recognize member Thomas Sherber’s Eagle Scout designation.  Sherber’s leadership project to achieve the rank of Eagle involved cleaning and landscaping the AVFD’s Company 3 station.  Sherber improved three key areas, including restoring the fish pond and garden outside the station, organizing the station apparatus bays and tagging all apparatus, and creating a memorial garden which included landscaping the south end of the station and raising money to install a stone Maltese Cross in the garden.

“Tom Sherber’s leadership and dedication are exemplary,” says AVFD Chief Michael Trick.  “The work he completed at Company 3 is noticeable to our members and our community every day.  We are grateful for the improvements and we commend Tom for a job very well done.”Sherber's Eagle Scout Ceremony 048
