Remember. Reflect. Recommit.

On September 11, 2001 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority Police, and eight private EMS/EMT paramedics made the ultimate sacrifice answering the call. On Thursday, September 11, 2014, the AVFD will hFlag on L12ost a memorial service commemorating the lives lost and the heroism displayed during the terrorist attacks on our nation. The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Company 1 located at 25 Darling Drive. All are welcome to attend and renew the promise Americans made 12 years ago when we vowed to never forget, to always remember.

For more information, please call the AVFD at (860) 677-2644.

I am writing to share information with you on the 9/11 National Remembrance Flag that my late husband and I created. This flag is meant to be an everlasting remembrance to the lives lost on 9/11/01. I hope you will visit the website and consider purchasing a flag to fly at your station.
