Golfers Wanted: Annual Fundraising Tourney is July 31

AVON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT SEEKS GOLFERS

4th Annual Fundraising Tournament is July 31

Most days, the Avon Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) is looking for new members – firefighters, fire police, administrative assistants, etc. Right now, the AVFD also really needs to find some golfers, folks who want to play in the Department’s fourth annual Golf Tournament on Monday, July 31, 2017. In addition, there are still plenty of sponsorship opportunities available.

“The golf tournament is a fundraiser to support the various needs of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department,” says Chief Michael Trick. “From equipment to apparatus to training, the things we must fund to honor our commitment to protecting our community become more expensive year after year. Each and every golfer and sponsor will make a difference.”

Presented by Sullivan’s O’Neills Chevrolet Buick with dinner sponsored by the Silvio Brighenti Family, the event will take place at Farmington Woods Golf Club, 34 Heritage Drive in Avon. Prior to the noon shotgun start, check-in begins at 10:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m. A silent auction and reception begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:00 p.m. and awards at 6:30 p.m. (prizes awarded for Team’s Low Score; on the green contests include Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive). Entry Fee: $130 per golfer by July 10, 2017 ($150 after July 10), includes 18 holes of golf, driving range, putting green, golf cart, BBQ lunch, buffet dinner, and raffle ticket.
